Washing the car is a chore, but new research has shown that a new coating developed by researchers at the Eindhoven University of Technology, that may not always be the case. This new coating has already shown to help scratching, and can help to repel water and dirt.
This type of technology has been around for a few years, however the problem with the current coating is that they don?t remain for long. The new studies have shown a longer lasting effect, and could even improve further by allowing water droplets to roll off the car.
It is thought that these coatings will be out in around 6-8 years, and could even be applied to solar panels, phones, and aircraft, to achieve the same effect as when applied to cars.
